An innovative pilot project to develop a call centre in Cherbourg – first unveiled last October – is one step closer to fruition.<\/p>\n

The project involves the Department of Innovation & Tourism Industry Development, Fujitsu and Cherbourg Council.<\/p>\n

A Letter of Intent was signed between the three parties last year to develop a call centre at Cherbourg.<\/p>\n

The centre would create jobs in the community as well as provide career opportunities.<\/p>\n

It will initially work with technology giant Fujitsu but could be expanded to service more clients.<\/p>\n

At the time, Nicole Forrester, from Fujitsu Oceania, said she hoped the pilot project would be launched at the end of March 2022.<\/p>\n

An information session has now been scheduled in Cherbourg for local residents interested in working at the call centre.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The session will be held at TAFE Queensland’s Nurunderi Campus next Wednesday (February 9) from 2:00pm.<\/p>\n
