Cherbourg State School has been included in a “Back-to-School vaccination blitz” announced by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk on Friday.<\/p>\n

More than 50 Queensland schools are included in the program, but Cherbourg is the only South Burnett school included in the list.<\/p>\n

Premier Palaszczuk said the pop-up vaccination clinics would ensure children can get vaccinated before the school year begins.<\/p>\n

The Back-to-School blitz will kick off this weekend (January 29-30) and run until February 6.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Premier said the success of previous pop-up school vaccination clinics meant that bringing them back for children made sense.<\/p>\n

\u201cThroughout the rollout, we have worked hard to bring vaccines to Queenslanders and with children aged five and over now eligible for a vaccine, it\u2019s their turn to come forward,\u201d the Premier said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the start of the school year locked in for Monday, February 7, to avoid the peak of the Omicron wave, parents can take advantage of the opportunity to get their kids vaccinated.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is widespread community transmission of the virus reaching all corners of this State.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdding a vaccination to the back-to-school list for your child is the best defence.\u201d<\/p>\n
