January 27, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n

A 45-year-old Bundaberg man was flown to Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious condition after a single-vehicle crash\u00a0on Mundubbera-Durong Road on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

The man’s Toyota LandCruiser, travelling south,\u00a0left the road, rolled through a fence and came to rest against a tree.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred on a straight\u00a0stretch of road near the Coo-ee homestead at Boondooma.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to the incident about 10:00am and found the man still trapped in the wreckage.<\/p>\n

A passer-by had managed to crawl into the wreck to staunch the bleeding from the man’s severely injured arm.<\/p>\n

Emergency crews worked for more than an hour to free the driver while paramedics kept his condition stable.<\/p>\n

The man was finally freed and then airlifted to hospital by a waiting RACQ LifeFlight helicopter about 12:15pm.<\/p>\n

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dashcam vision to come forward.<\/p>\n

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.<\/p>\n
