January 25, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n

The State finals of the Queensland Ag Shows prime beef and stud beef Young Judges and Young Paraders competitions will be held at the Proston Show on March 5.<\/p>\n

The finals were to have been held at the 2021 Ekka, which unfortunately was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

They were then earmarked for the Stanthorpe Show this weekend but this show has now been postponed to a date to be set later in the year.<\/p>\n

Qld Shows general manager\u00a0Trevor Beckingham OAM said the new date would be too late for the finals so the next available slot was the Proston Show.<\/p>\n

The Proston Show will also include a cattle feature this year, focusing on the Speckle Park breed.<\/p>\n

Proston Show Society president Mortimer Duff said the committee’s planning was “full steam ahead”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“All the stewards want their sections to run and we have received a lot of interest from competitors and the general public,” he said.<\/p>\n

Mortimer told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> the Proston Show was expanding its food and camping options this year, as well as the bar.<\/p>\n

“We are looking for a big turnout and welcome everyone to be a part of the day.”<\/p>\n

The Murgon Show, which was to be held on March 11-12, has been postponed to a date to be fixed.<\/p>\n
