The Burnett Mary Regional Group, in conjunction with the Federal Government’s Caring For Our Country program, has organised free half-day, one-on-one consultation sessions for growers impacted by this year’s floods.<\/p>\n

The consultation sessions are open to growers in the Stuart River, Barker Creek, Barambah Creek and Boonara Creek sub-catchments.<\/p>\n

The sessions will be run by Brisbane consultants\u00a0CTF Solutions<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and will cover farm and paddock layout planning, soil management (soil loss and silt deposition), maximising controlled traffic farming to reduce soil loss; and general agronomic advice on soil recovery and soil health.<\/p>\n

The consultations are aimed at growers whose cropping country suffered soil loss, scouring and silt deposition during the 2013 floods.<\/p>\n

Application forms – obtainable from BMRG’s offices in Wondai – should be returned by May 6 by email<\/a><\/strong> or posted to PO Box 181, Wondai, 4606.<\/p>\n

Forms can also be dropped off to the Burnett Mary Regional Group offices located in the old courthouse at 32 Bramston Street, Wondai.<\/p>\n

Only limited spots are available.<\/p>\n
