Kingaroy professional angler Matthew Langford has won a prestigious national title in the highly competitive sport of bass fishing.<\/p>\n

For the second year in a row, Langford has been named “Bass Angler of the Year”.<\/p>\n

“A thousand words can\u2019t explain how proud I am to be awarded the title,” he said.<\/p>\n

The national competition, run by ABT Tournaments, was held on the Richmond River in NSW last weekend.<\/p>\n

The event attracted the best Bass anglers from around the country.<\/p>\n

Matthew was awarded the trophy for being the most consistent Bass angler in Australia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I had a shot at the win in the Grand Final, too, but it wasn\u2019t to be this time, just pipped at the post to come second by 90 grams,” he said.<\/p>\n

“But (it was) unreal to put myself in the position to take both.<\/p>\n

“To win Angler of the Year twice in ABT and once in Bass Nation is beyond what I thought I could ever achieve.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s so true that if the people around you believe in you and you believe in yourself and your ability you can do anything.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
