Yarraman residents have received an early Christmas present from Toowoomba Regional Council with an easing of water restrictions.<\/p>\n

The TRC has shifted restrictions to “low level”, effective immediately in Yarraman, Haden, Kulpi and Millmerran.<\/p>\n

The decision follows good, localised rain in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

All other locations across the TRC region will remain on current restrictions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been blessed with very good rain in recent weeks and as a result, some of our water sources have been replenished,\u201d Cr Rebecca Vonhoff said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter careful consideration we decided to wind back restrictions for these locations to low level.<\/p>\n

\u201cMillmerran, Haden and Kulpi have been on medium level restrictions for some time while Yarraman was on high level water restrictions, so this is particularly good news for that community. It\u2019s important to acknowledge the significant impact prolonged restrictions have on residents.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI am very pleased some of the pressure can be taken off these communities and I would like to thank those residents for their hard work.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile our combined dam levels have increased and ground water supplies restored in some areas, the region is still being impacted by drought so it\u2019s important everyone remain vigilant and continue to conserve water.
