Four South Burnett organisations in the Wide Bay electorate have received funding under the latest round of the Federal Government\u2019s Volunteer Grants program.<\/p>\n

Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien said successful applications were received from:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Graham House Community Centre – $2820 to buy a defibrillator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • Queensland Dairy and Heritage Museum – $3000 to upgrade its lawnmower, hedge trimmer and whipper snipper to assist with maintenance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • Murgon RSL Sub-Branch – $1800 for a ride-on lawnmower<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • South Burnett First Aid Volunteers – $5000 for a First Aid Response Kit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          The 2021 Volunteer Grants program is providing organisations with grants of between $1000 and $5000 to help purchase equipment, training, and background screening checks for their volunteers.<\/p>\n

          \u201cThe South Burnett has been significantly affected by the prolonged drought; the Black Summer bushfires, and now the challenges posed by COVID-19, but volunteers have not skipped a beat and are there at each step of the way to help their local communities,\u201d Mr O\u2019Brien said.<\/p>\n
