below (Artwork: Qld Health)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>December 7, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>South Burnett Regional Council has reminded businesses of the restrictions that are coming into effect on Friday, December 17.<\/p>\n<p>TAFE Queensland is currently offering free &#8220;COVID Safe for Business&#8221;\u00a0mini-courses (micro-credential) to give businesspeople and employees a deeper understanding of the new COVID restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>The course is fully funded by the State Government and more information is <a href=\"https:\/\/tafeqld.edu.au\/courses\/ways-you-can-study\/micro-credentials\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>available online<\/strong> <\/a><\/p>\n<p>(A link to the new Public Health Direction which will come into effect from 5:00am on December 17 is below.)<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #006699;\"><strong>From December 17<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>There will be no capacity restrictions on businesses where only FULLY VACCINATED people can attend, including:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hospitality venues such as hotels, pubs, clubs, taverns, bars, restaurants or cafes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Indoor entertainment venues such as nightclubs, live music venues, karaoke bars, concerts, theatres or cinemas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Outdoor entertainment activities such as sporting stadiums or theme parks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Festivals \u2013 either indoor or outdoor \u2013 such as musical festivals, folk festivals or arts festivals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>State Government-owned galleries, museums or libraries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Weddings (only if all attendees are fully vaccinated)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Essential businesses will be able to allow both FULLY VACCINATED and UNVACCINATED people.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, capacity restrictions may still be in place at these types of businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Unvaccinated people will be able to visit and attend:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Essential services (eg. grocery stores, pharmacies, post offices, newsagents, clothing stores, limited retail stores, gyms and fitness services)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Food courts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Shopping centres (except for businesses within a shopping centre that only allow fully vaccinated people)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Fast food restaurants for takeaway or drive-through only<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Accommodation providers (eg. a hotel or resort), except for any venues within an accommodation premises that only allow fully vaccinated people (eg. pub, restaurant, nightclub)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Markets (eg. farmers market, craft market, community market)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Funerals (occupant density limits and attendance caps will apply)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Weddings (with a maximum of 20 people if anyone attending is unvaccinated)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #006699;\"><strong>Checking Vaccination Status<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Hospitality and entertainment businesses need to take reasonable steps to enforce these restrictions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Customers aged 16 years or over must carry proof of their vaccination status and be prepared to show this on request.<\/p>\n<p>These businesses must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Display the vaccination rules in a prominent location at the entry of the business premises<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Use best efforts to ask for proof of vaccination from customers at the time of check-in (this is a legal requirement) through:\n<ul>\n<li>The Check In Qld app, or<\/li>\n<li>An immunisation history statement, or<\/li>\n<li>A COVID-19 vaccination digital certificate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If\u00a0 a customer cannot or refuses to provide evidence, ask the person to leave the premises<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If the person refuses to the leave the premises and becomes aggressive, phone the police<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More details will be available soon on arrangements that will apply for people who have a genuine medical reason for not being vaccinated, and what proof of exemption they must provide to a business.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It is not expected for business owners or staff to be the police.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If customers
