The inaugural Wondai Twilight markets held at the showgrounds on Saturday has been hailed as a great success.<\/p>\n

Show Society secretary Sue Hullock said the response by the public had been “brilliant”, with the crowd building as the afternoon wore on.<\/p>\n

There were more than 30 stalls strung along a line behind the main pavilion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Show Society put on a jumping castle for the children and for the adults there was a bonus that most other local markets can’t offer … a licensed bar.<\/p>\n

Sue said the markets had been the brainchild of Bree Retschlag after the Show Society was forced to cancel its 2020 and 2021 shows due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n

She said Bree had done an incredible amount of work in the lead-up to make the inaugural event a success.<\/p>\n

The Show Society now plans to run the markets four times a year, with one coinciding with the annual Wondai Show.<\/p>\n
