A heavy rainstorm couldn’t stop the Goomeri & District Show Society from honouring five new Life Members in a special ceremony on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Life Membership, which recognises meritorious service, was awarded to Phyllis Hopf, Rodney Euler, Pam Euler, Roy Dennien and Janelle Dennien during a break in the Show Society’s November meeting\u00a0in the Pam Brunjes Pavilion.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately Roy and Janelle were unable to attend.<\/p>\n

It is the second honour that Phyllis had received recently after the main oval at Goomeri Showgrounds was renamed the “Phyllis Hopf Arena”.<\/p>\n

Show Society secretary\u00a0Mikael Sayers said the\u00a0freshly made scones and tarts were very welcome on the night, as were the warm cups of tea.<\/p>\n
