clinics popping up everywhere!<\/p>\n<p>Health workers, politicians &#8211; and even sports stars &#8211; have been visiting the region recently to spread the urgent message for people to get vaxxed.<\/p>\n<p>The official visits are a bid to counter the misinformation and disinformation proliferating on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and health officials have repeatedly warned that once Queensland &#8220;opens up&#8221; It is unknown at this stage how he was infected but was possibly infectious in the community for up to six days.<\/p>\n<p>The latest locations join recently listed sites in Upper Coomera, Cairns, Mission Beach, Goondiwindi and at Brisbane Airport.<\/p>\n<p>Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk told reporters that as at Wednesday morning, Queensland vaccination rates were at 79.84 per cent first dose, and 67.84 per cent fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>At 80 per cent first dose, masks will no longer be required in the south-east LGAs where they have been mandatory.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>External link:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.qld.gov.au\/health\/conditions\/health-alerts\/coronavirus-covid-19\/current-status\/contact-tracing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Contact Tracing Exposure Sites<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #006699;\"><strong>New Mandate For Health Workers<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_107929\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-107929\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/yvettedath.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-107929\" src=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/yvettedath.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"228\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-107929\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Health Minister Yvette D&#8217;Ath<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>COVID-19 vaccinations will be mandated for all private healthcare staff across Queensland, including staff working in hospitals, aged care and disability services.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Health Minister Yvette D\u2019Ath announced the &#8220;Workers in a Healthcare Setting (COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements) Direction&#8221; on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder this Direction, everyone working in healthcare must be vaccinated by December 15, including private health workers,\u201d Minister D\u2019Ath said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve already mandated the jab for Queensland Health staff and now we\u2019re applying the same set of rules for private sector healthcare workers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s critical that all health workers, including students and volunteers, are protected. They face a high infection risk, especially clinicians on the frontline.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Direction extends to health professionals, contractors, independent third party providers, and employees or volunteers engaged by external agencies.<\/p>\n<p>It applies to a vast range of healthcare settings including private hospitals, day surgeries, GP clinics, pharmacies, optometrists, private nurse offices, allied health clinics, dental surgeries, and private pathology centres.<\/p>\n<p>The Direction also applies to in-home aged care, many disability support services, and not-for-profit and NGOs providing public healthcare services.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #006699;\"><strong>Home Quarantine<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Home quarantine will become easier for some returning Queenslanders and eligible interstate travellers once the 70 per cent double-dose vaccination mark is reached.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Health Minister Yvette D\u2019Ath said this followed the success of the recent home quarantine trial.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore than 1000 people in eight local government areas in south-east Queensland took part in the trial and their feedback has been very positive,&#8221; she said<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You will be able to quarantine at any self-contained dwelling, as long as it has no shared common areas that are accessible by people outside the household.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis may include a standalone house or a unit, townhouse or duplex that has its own entrance.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, interstate travellers must still arrive by air.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou will be able to arrive at any Queensland airport, but you can only transit to another destination if you transit through Brisbane. You can then drive to your home quarantine residence, as long as it&#8217;s within two hours without stopping. You can travel by either private car, a hire car with contactless pick-up, or an endorsed transport provider,&#8221; Minister D&#8217;Ath said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>People wanting to home quarantine must still:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be fully vaccinated (they must have had two doses of the vaccine, with at least two weeks between their second shot and their entry into Queensland),<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Have returned a negative COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours prior to entry,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure anyone else residing in the household also quarantines,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Use the home quarantine check-in service,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain contact records for anyone attending the property, and<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Get a PCR test at a drive-through clinic, using a private vehicle, on days 1, 5 and 12.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>[UPDATED]<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are plenty of opportunities for residents in the South Burnett to get vaccinated against COVID-19 over the next few days, with &#8220;pop-up&#8221; clinics popping up everywhere!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":309260,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[1455,3],"tags":[1551],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
