Police can cop a lot of abuse when they’re out doing their jobs, so it’s a very pleasant surprise to get a big “thank you” from a young supporter.<\/p>\n

School captain Luca Campbell is in Year 6 at Taabinga State School.<\/p>\n

She’s been impressed with all the work that Taabinga’s Adopt-a-Cop, Senior Constable Robert Grogan, has been doing at the school.<\/p>\n

So she came up with the idea to bake and make some goodies for the guys and gals at Kingaroy Police Station as a way to show her support.<\/p>\n

“They don’t get as much appreciation as they should,” she said on Tuesday morning as she handed over boxes of hand-made snacks for the officers.<\/p>\n

Luca was accompanied to the police station by her mum, Jacqueline, and Felicity Ditchburn, the new principal at Taabinga State School.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And the food couldn’t have been any fresher.<\/p>\n

Luca got up before 6:00am to put together the grazing boxes, which included sandwiches, cup cakes, ham and cheese croissants and Mars bar slices.<\/p>\n

“Thank you for always helping us and keeping us safe,” Luca said.<\/p>\n

Officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney joked he was pleased there were no doughnuts …<\/p>\n

“Seriously, it’s very much appreciated,” Snr Sgt Tierney said.\u00a0“Kingaroy is a great community.”<\/p>\n

He told Luca it looked like she was going to grow up to be a great community member.<\/p>\n
