Kingaroy Police are warning residents about illegal door-to-door scammers who may be targeting the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

“The Office of Fair Trading as well as police have taken calls regarding two males driving a white stationwagon with yellow and black stripes around the South Burnett area,” officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney said.<\/p>\n

“They are approaching residences unsolicited to perform bitumen work, driveways etc, and then wanting to be paid well above the rate for what work should entail.<\/p>\n

“QPS would remind people who find them in situations such as this not agree to any person who attends to your residence unsolicited to perform work.<\/p>\n

“If you have any doubts contact industry groups or the Office of Fair Trading to ensure they are licensed tradespersons.”<\/p>\n

Police recently issued a warning about bitumen scammers working in the Roma area.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They are believed to be the same group that ripped off a homeowner in that area in 2019.<\/p>\n

At that time they offered to repair the resident\u2019s driveway for $52,000.<\/p>\n

The resident agreed but later discovered the work was of poor quality and had not been completed.<\/p>\n

The men had either Irish or European accents.<\/p>\n
