Murgon detectives have charged 12 people with 204 drug offences following the closure of Operation Konopie targeting the supply of dangerous drugs across Murgon, Mundubbera, and Gayndah.<\/p>\n

During the five-month long operation, which began in June, police used information from the public and investigative strategies which culminated in the arrest of a 29-year-old woman in Mundubbera on November 1.<\/p>\n

The Mount Gravatt East woman was charged with 147 offences, including 139 counts of supplying dangerous drugs, and one count each of trafficking dangerous drugs and receiving or possessing property obtained from trafficking or supplying and other related offences.<\/p>\n

Police allege she has supplied methamphetamine to numerous people over an extended period in the North and South Burnett.<\/p>\n

She appeared in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Acting Detective Inspector Renee Garske thanked the community for the information they provided throughout the course of the investigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis joint approach between regional and specialist practitioners that target drug supply, demand, and harm reduction with the input of the regional community members being vital to the success of policing operations,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
