A South Burnett Regional Council project to develop a 30-year plan for the region’s Council-owned water and wastewater assets has been recognised with an industry award.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Total Asset Management Strategy (TAMS) project was developed by Council staff, alongside\u00a0GenEng Solutions and ATC Consulting.<\/p>\n

It received a Highly Commended award in the\u00a0Innovation & Sustainability In Water category at the recent Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia Queensland awards.<\/p>\n

The awards were announced at the\u00a0IPWEAQ annual conference in Cairns last week.<\/p>\n

Cr Roz Frohloff, who holds the water and wastewater portfolio, said the TAMS project would help residents and the environment, and provide opportunities for industry growth.<\/p>\n

Independent studies addressed growth in demand, the condition of assets, water security and financial sustainability.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
