There was talent galore on show at the inaugural “Sue and Geoff’s Country Music Campout” at Wooroolin on the weekend.<\/p>\n

The three-day festival of music and dancing began at 9:00am on Thursday and wound up late on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

The event was organised by well-known local musicians Sue Bradley and Geoff Grevell.<\/p>\n

Sue told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> it had been a big success.<\/p>\n

“We were just thrilled with it,” she said. “We got the numbers that we had hoped for.”<\/p>\n

Sue said there would have been about 150 people taking part over the three days.<\/p>\n

There were many walk-up acts as well as Sue and Geoff and their band on stage.<\/p>\n

Sue admitted the couple had been unsure about how it would go, but were now planning to hold another event in March.<\/p>\n

“The feedback we got was really good,” she said.<\/p>\n

“We hope to hold two a year, in March and October.”\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Wooroolin free-stay area was packed with campervans and caravans, with other visitors staying in local motels.<\/p>\n

Sue said she hoped that local businesses, including the Butcher’s Cafe and the Grand Hotel, had benefited from visitors dropping in.<\/p>\n

“We were only serving tea and coffee in the hall. That was the point,” she said.<\/p>\n

Friday night’s dance – featuring line-dancing, old-time and new vogue – was popular, as was the finale concert on Saturday night which featured a range of acts … and even an old-school wobble board!<\/p>\n
