Wondai’s sand track will host the traditional Anzac Day races on Thursday<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The South Burnett Race Club is celebrating the return of the traditional Anzac Day races to Wondai this week.<\/p>\n

The club held Anzac Day meetings annually at Wondai between 1970 and 2009. But in 2010, Queensland Racing forced the club to stop by awarding the date to Beaudesert and then \u2013 in 2011 and 2012 \u2013 to Chinchilla.<\/p>\n

The return of the meeting to Wondai was announced by the incoming State Government in April last year.<\/p>\n

The meeting will feature a five-race program as well as a fashion parade and Fashions of the Field competition.<\/p>\n

Free buses will run to and from the races (to guarantee a seat, phone 0427-193-552).

\nBuses will leave:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Nanango – Fitzroy Hotel at noon;<\/li>\n
  • Kingaroy – Kingaroy Hotel at 12:30pm<\/li>\n
  • Proston – Golden Spurs Hotel at 11:30am<\/li>\n
  • Hivesville – Hivesville Hotel at 11:45am<\/li>\n
