Yarraman residents and\u00a0businesses have been invited to have their say on how the Toowoomba region plans to grow over the next 30 years to support an extra 55,000 residents and 18,000 new homes.<\/p>\n

A drop-in session will be held at Yarraman Memorial Hall from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on November 4 to allow residents to view the draft growth plan and provide feedback.<\/p>\n

An online survey will also be open for three weeks on the TRC website from October 25.<\/p>\n

Cr Megan O\u2019Hara Sullivan said consultation on the Growth Plan marked the next stage of public feedback under Council\u2019s long-term planning program, “Toowoomba Region Futures”.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur Toowoomba Region Futures program is designed to help shape growth and development in our region for the next 30 years,\u201d Cr O\u2019Hara Sullivan said.<\/p>\n

Cr Bill Cahill said the TRC had released two potential growth options for the community to consider.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cCouncil has worked hard to develop two growth options that align with the community\u2019s values and to respond to the concerns and priorities in relation to growth, identified during community consultation in March 2021,\u201d Cr Cahill said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth growth options aim to balance the protection of character, heritage and our natural environment with convenience, access and lifestyle.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth of the options also accommodate the region\u2019s growth to 2051, but each option would result in slightly different settlement patterns.\u201d<\/p>\n
