Kingaroy auctioneer Corey Evans has taken out the 2021\u00a0ALPA Young Auctioneers Competition after putting in a stunning display at Roma Saleyards on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The competition, which featured 10 finalists, had originally been scheduled for the Brisbane Ekka but was shifted to Roma when the Ekka was cancelled.<\/p>\n

The 10 finalists were:<\/p>\n

  • Simon Kinbacher, Elders, Rockhampton<\/li>\n
  • Jake Robinson, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Dalby<\/li>\n
  • Justin Rohde, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Rockhampton<\/li>\n
  • Ashley Steel, Hourn & Bishop Qld, Moura<\/li>\n
  • Cody Trost, Grant Daniel Long, Blackall<\/li>\n
  • Wyatt Wrigley, Eastern Rural, Dalby<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Corey, 23, works for Aussie Land & Livestock in Kingaroy and has done so since he left school.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    As well as being a familiar face at the Coolabunia and Murgon saleyards, Corey is also well-known at local shows, preparing and leading cattle from his family’s Jen-Daview Limousins stud.<\/p>\n

    He has competed in the ALPA competition four times, and was a finalist in 2020.<\/p>\n

    Simon Kinbacher, from Elders in Rockhampton, was second in this year’s event.<\/p>\n
