Six more NSW council areas will be added to Queensland’s non-restricted border zone from 1:00am on Wednesday (October 12).<\/p>\n

The six council areas are Bourke Shire, the City of Broken Hill, Kyogle, Lismore City, Richmond Valley and the unincorporated Far West.<\/p>\n

Other NSW Local Government Areas already classified as part of the\u00a0non-restricted\u00a0border zone are the shires of Ballina, Brewarrina, Byron, Glen Innes, Severn, Gwydir, Inverell, Moree Plains, Tenterfield, Tweed, Walgett and\u00a0Clarence Valley Council.<\/p>\n

Non-restricted NSW border zone residents can\u00a0cross the border for a variety of essential purposes<\/a><\/strong>, including work or volunteering.<\/p>\n

Queensland residents can\u00a0enter the\u00a0non-restricted\u00a0border zone\u00a0for a variety of purposes and do not need to observe stay-at-home requirements when they return to Queensland.<\/p>\n

Since January 25, 2020 – when the first COVID-19 cases were reported locally – there has be\u00a0129,382<\/span>\u00a0confirmed cases\u00a0in Australia, including\u00a01463<\/span>\u00a0deaths.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Queensland, the total is 2067 cases and seven deaths.\u00a0No locally acquired cases were recorded in Queensland during the past 24 hours.<\/p>\n

According to data collected by John Hopkins University, world figures currently stand at\u00a0238,310,619 cases, including\u00a04,858,053 deaths.<\/p>\n
