Nanango SES Group Leader Robyn Baker has been appointed Local Controller for the SES in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

Cr Roz Frohloff – who chairs the South Burnett Local Disaster Management Group –\u00a0 alerted South Burnett councillors to the change at their Communities Standing Committee meeting on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

She said the QFES would be holding the\u00a0North Coast Region SES Week awards ceremony and equipment handover at Gympie this Saturday (October 9).<\/p>\n

“Members from the South Burnett SES Unit will be awarded for their commendable achievements,” Cr Frohloff said.<\/p>\n

“We congratulate all SES members in advance for any awards received at this presentation.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cr Frohloff said\u00a0SES executive positions were for a three-year term and had been recently advertised.<\/p>\n

“At the conclusion of this process and in partnership with QFES, we can advise that Robyn Baker has been appointed the Area Controller for SES South Burnett,” Cr Frohloff said.<\/p>\n

On behalf of Council, Cr Frohloff thanked the previous Area Controller, Arthur Dawson,\u00a0for his leadership and service to the local SES and the South Burnett community.<\/p>\n

“Arthur has been with the SES for 21 years. (He) will continue to volunteer and assist with SES and continue to share his invaluable experience and knowledge with the other SES members going forward,” Cr Frohloff said.<\/p>\n
