{"id":306519,"date":"2021-09-29T14:20:08","date_gmt":"2021-09-29T04:20:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=306519"},"modified":"2021-09-30T11:33:01","modified_gmt":"2021-09-30T01:33:01","slug":"brisbane-sites-in-latest-alert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2021\/09\/29\/brisbane-sites-in-latest-alert\/","title":{"rendered":"Brisbane Sites In Latest Alert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>September 29, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A public health alert has been issued for new locations in the Brisbane CBD, Cannon Hill, Carindale, Camp Hill and Hamilton following a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Brisbane.<\/p>\n<p>Queensland Health issued a series of alerts on Wednesday afternoon and evening.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We urge all Queenslanders to check the contact tracing website and follow the health advice if you\u2019ve been to any of these locations,&#8221; a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Anyone with any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, should get tested as soon as practical.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council also issued an alert:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>&#8220;Please avoid travel to Brisbane and surround areas &#8211; new cases of COVID have been identified &#8211; we have been advised by health authorities a lot more locations are expected to affected. Please do not travel to the affected areas or visit our Cherbourg community if you have been in these areas. lives at Gaven on the Gold Coast.<\/p>\n<p>In an unrelated incident, a truck driver who lives at Biggera Waters has tested positive in NSW.\u00a0He is believed to have been infectious in the Gold Coast community for three days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qld.gov.au\/health\/conditions\/health-alerts\/coronavirus-covid-19\/current-status\/urgent-covid-19-update#qld-restrictions-update\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mask restrictions<\/a> announced on Tuesday for Brisbane City and Moreton council areas have now been extended to the Gold Coast.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>New contact tracing locations on the Gold Coast have been added to the Queensland Health <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.qld.gov.au\/health\/conditions\/health-alerts\/coronavirus-covid-19\/current-status\/contact-tracing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Anyone who has been anywhere in the Brisbane, Gold Coast and Moreton Bay local government areas since 1:00am on September 19 must follow these face mask requirements.<\/p>\n<p>And &#8211; people attending the rugby league grand final should take note &#8211;\u00a0from 1:00am on Wednesday (September 29) spectators attending stadium events at major and smaller venues in Queensland must wear a mask at all times, even while they are seated, except when eating.<\/p>\n<p>Spectators cannot consume food or drink while standing in a stadium, but can remove their masks briefly to eat or drink when seated.<\/p>\n<p>Restrictions on people visiting hospitals, aged and disability care facilities and prisons have also also been extended to the Gold Coast.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Health Minister Yvette D\u2019Ath said it was vital Queenslanders did not delay in getting the vaccine.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cDelta variant is on our doorstep,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve always said it\u2019s a matter of when, not if, the Delta variant spreads in Queensland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s so important you get your first dose as soon as possible because you still need to get a second dose after at least three weeks for maximum protection.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery person who gets vaccinated is helping to decrease the spread of COVID-19 and protect their communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must remember that we will only reach a pathway out of the pandemic if people come forward and get vaccinated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Premier Annastacia\u00a0Palaszczuk warned again that Queensland could not keep Delta out of the community forever.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThanks to the way we\u2019ve responded to the pandemic, we have a great window of opportunity to vaccinate as many Queenslanders as possible,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re yet to get vaccinated, I urge you to come forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can still book in &#8211; bookings will continue to take priority.
