September 24, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Mt Stanley Muster – a two-day campdraft which has been in hibernation for the past 10 years – will be coming back to life in October.<\/p>\n

Volunteers have spent the past few months revamping Mt Stanley’s campdrafting grounds on Eastern Branch Road.<\/p>\n

The two-day event will be relaunched on October 9-10.<\/p>\n

“The Mt Stanley Muster grounds are a picturesque little gem hidden in a valley below the mountain about 30km north of Linville,” Muster spokesperson Kate Dohle said. <\/strong><\/p>\n

“It’s an idyllic spot for campdrafting.<\/p>\n

“It’s also a perfect getaway, because with no mobile phone reception and little contact with the outside world, there is nothing to do except watch this great sport and eat some good food!”<\/p>\n

The Mt Stanley Muster is a non-ACA event that’s open to all campdrafters, and it will feature Maiden, Novice, Junior, Juvenile and Open Drafts for cash prizes ranging up to $3500.<\/p>\n

The Novice – which will be held over two rounds and a final – is also part of the Somerset Series Novice Draft.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Free unpowered campsites are available in the grounds along with showers and stock water, and first aid will be in attendance during the COVIDSafe event.<\/p>\n

A sausage sizzle and bar will run on Friday night, and there will be a dinner and bar operating on Saturday night along with a charity auction to raise funds for the Capricornia Rescue Helicopter Service.<\/p>\n

Nominations for the campdraft opened on September 19 and will close on September 29.<\/strong><\/p>\n
