South Burnett Regional Council is in the process of setting up a Youth Council as part of its Corporate Plan.<\/p>\n

Cr Danita Potter told last week’s\u00a0Community Standing Committee Meeting the Youth Council would provide a unique experience for participants.<\/p>\n

“And I hope (it will be) an eye-opening exercise for councillors, staff and residents of the South Burnett,” she said.<\/p>\n

Cr Potter said the Youth Council would be an ongoing institution.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Youth in our community need to have a say about the future of the South Burnett,” she said.<\/p>\n

“They are our next generation of councillors, mayors, CEOs, managers, town planners, engineers, administration officers, librarians, gardeners, mechanics, graziers … and the list goes on.”<\/p>\n

Terms of reference are being drawn up.<\/p>\n

Cr Potter said she expected a vote to form the Youth Council would be conducted at the next General Meeting of Council.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
