Queensland Health has added new locations at Upper Mount Gravatt, Sunnybank and Sunnybank Hills to its current COVID-19 contact tracing lists.<\/p>\n

The locations are linked to the Sunnybank cluster which began last week after a\u00a0student who attends St Thomas More College tested\u00a0positive to the Delta variant.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the cluster had grown by one but there was no concern for the community as the 15-year-old girl was already in home quarantine.<\/p>\n

More than 1000 families are currently quarantining at home for 14 days after being linked to the\u00a0cluster.<\/p>\n

There are currently 28 active COVID-19 cases in Queensland, with 19 people in hospital (including one in intensive care).<\/p>\n

A total of 1,626,249 doses of vaccine have been administered by Queensland Health, including\u00a02504 at the pop-up clinic at Cherbourg Welfare Hall and\u00a01013 at Murgon.<\/p>\n

As well, 315 doses have been administered at Kingaroy Hospital.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett and Cherbourg are lagging behind neighbouring Toowoomba and Gympie when it comes to COVID vaccinations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the latest data from the Federal Department of Health, 39.6 per cent of the Toowoomba region’s population were fully vaccinated by September 12, followed closely by the Gympie region, 33.2 per cent.<\/p>\n

By contrast, just 28.7 per cent of the South Burnett and 17.7 per cent of Cherbourg were in the same position.<\/p>\n

However, this may improve significantly over the next few months.<\/p>\n

According to the Health Department, 58.2 per cent of Toowoomba, 55.3 per cent of Gympie, 51.9 per cent of the South Burnett and 28.1 per cent of Cherbourg have now had their first vaccination.<\/p>\n

This means that when most people who have had a first dose of vaccine choose to become fully vaccinated, the South Burnett’s figures should draw much closer to those of neighbouring councils before the end of the year.<\/p>\n
