The cast and crew of Kingaroy State High School’s production of “Godspell”<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

September 9, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kingaroy State High School’s latest musical extravaganza will hit the stage at the Kingaroy Performing Arts Centre on Friday night.<\/p>\n

“Godspell” is being presented for a very limited run of three performances: 7:00pm on Friday (Sept 10) and 1:00pm and 7:00pm on Saturday (Sept 11).<\/p>\n

Director Zoe Basham and music director \/ choreographer Sue Dowideit-Reiger have been putting the young cast through their paces this week in the lead-up to Friday’s premiere.<\/p>\n

“This new production of Godspell is fairly true to the theme of the original,” Sue said.<\/p>\n

“A community is being formed who learn about the philosophies of Jesus. Despite different backgrounds, they learn that they have common ground and a true respect for Jesus and his teachings.<\/p>\n

“We believe the way in which we have prepared this production honours Jesus whilst being accessible for both Christians and non-Christians.<\/p>\n

“Language throughout the script is thoughtful and appropriate, making this an ideal outing for all ages.”<\/p>\n

Harry Charlwood heads the cast as Jesus with Isaac Jones playing John The Baptist \/ Judas.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Other cast members include Jamie Edwards, Jeremy Davies, Caleb Anderson, Charlie Buckle, Miriam Roselio, Abigail Roselio, Juliana Evangelista, Wyatt Johnson and Justine Evangelista.<\/p>\n

Godspell was originally produced as an off-Broadway musical in 1971 and turned into a film in 1973.<\/p>\n

It features eight non-Biblical characters\u00a0who sing and act out parables from the Gospel of Matthew.<\/p>\n

Tickets for the Kingaroy production are $20 (adults) or $15 (concession).<\/p>\n

They must be booked via the Qkr! app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.<\/p>\n
