The 2021 South Burnett Ride 4 Relay looks set to break its $24,000 fundraising target after a generous last-minute donation.<\/p>\n

The cyclists rolled into Kingaroy Showgrounds on Saturday morning at the end of their five-day, 400km trek around the South Burnett raising funds for\u00a0the Cancer Council Queensland.<\/p>\n

At the start of the ride, organiser Jason Wyeth said if the group raised $24,000, it would take the Ride 4 Relay’s total over the past five years to more than $100,000 – an amazing effort!<\/p>\n

The riders tackled a number of hills … especially on Day 3 when they were by challenged by about 1500m of elevation while riding into a stiff easterly wind.<\/p>\n

Day 5, cruising down the South Burnett Rail Trail from Wooroolin, was probably the easiest but the cyclists deserved a break.<\/p>\n

By the time they arrived back in Kingaroy, they had raised just over $18,000.<\/p>\n

But then sponsor Bill Hull Car Centre presented Jason with a cheque for $2500 – pushing the total to more than $20,000.<\/p>\n

Jason said there was still raffle money to count and cattle to sell, so he was confident the $24,000 target would be broken.<\/p>\n

As of Thursday, fundraising stood at $23,612.<\/p>\n
