More than 300 motorbikes rolled into Wondai Sportsground on Monday to camp over on the first night of a 3500km fundraising run.<\/p>\n

The five-day Southern Cross Association Poker Run is raising funds for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Queensland (SBH Qld).<\/p>\n

Association secretary Barb McKinnon, from Tamborine, said the annual run was first held in 1998 and aims to raise between $30,000 and $40,000 for SBH Qld every year.<\/p>\n

A total of 367 people have registered for the 2021 run, which began in Calliope on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Fundraising will continue along the ride with raffles, auctions and bar takings adding to donations collected.<\/p>\n

After Wondai, the riders will head to Roma, Blackall, Emerald and then finish at Nebo.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Like other poker runs, riders will collect a playing card at each stopover. The rider with the winning hand will receive a $1200 prize.<\/p>\n

It’s not the first the SCA has visited the South Burnett … previous poker runs have visited Maidenwell, Kumbia and Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Riders for the latest run have come from all of Queensland, as well as one from Darwin.<\/p>\n
