The Kingaroy Cinema has been given a $35,000 Federal Government lifeline.<\/p>\n

The “Supporting Cinemas’ Retention Endurance and Enhancement of Neighbourhoods” (SCREEN) fund was announced on March 26 by Communications Minister Paul Fletcher.<\/p>\n

The aim of the fund is to support independent cinema operators who have experienced significant declines in revenue due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n

\u201c(I am) pleased to see $35,000 awarded to the Kingaroy Cinema under the Federal Government\u2019s $20 million SCREEN Fund,\u201d Member for Maranoa David Littleproud said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis funding will support Kingaroy\u2019s independent cinema to keep operating during a period of severe disruption, which is so important to the fabric of our community.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIndependent cinemas are so important to the social and cultural health of our communities in Australia, which is why we acted quickly to introduce this fund.\u201d<\/p>\n

Administered by Screen Australia, the fund assists independent cinema operators who have experienced significant declines in revenue due to the pandemic, with one-off business continuity grants of up to $85,000.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
