Darling Downs Health is returning to Cherbourg next week to provide more COVID-19 vaccinations for local residents – and there will also be a face-to-face opportunity to ask questions about the vaccines.<\/p>\n

Residents who have questions or concerns about receiving a vaccination have been invited to attend a Q&A with Dr Katie Panaretto prior to the clinic\u2019s first day next Monday (September 6).<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a lot of information about the COVID-19 vaccination in the community and it can be hard separating facts from myths,\u201d Dr Katie said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese vaccinations are safe, effective and the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones from getting very sick.<\/p>\n

\u201cI encourage everyone who has questions or concerns to come down to the town hall and have a yarn.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr Katie said it was particularly important for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to consider getting vaccinated.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cSadly, we are now seeing in NSW and Victoria how this virus is impacting First Nations communities,\u201d Dr Katie said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis clinic is a great opportunity for people to not only protect themselves but also their communities, elders and families.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Cherbourg vaccination clinic will be held at the Cherbourg Hall from noon to 5:00pm on Monday (September 6); 8:00am to 4:30pm on Tuesday- Thursday (September 7-9) and 8:00am to noon on Friday (September 10).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The clinic will be open to those getting their second COVID-19 vaccination (two doses are required for full protection) as well as those wanting their first vaccination.<\/p>\n

Those attending for their first vaccination have been asked to please attend on either Monday or Friday.<\/p>\n

The Q&A yarn with Dr Katie Panaretto will be held on Monday (September 6)\u00a0 from 10:30am at the town hall, prior to the clinic opening.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All are welcome and morning tea will be provided.<\/p>\n
