Queensland police have warned that changes to the hotel quarantine system have been implemented for anyone travelling into Queensland from hotspot locations in Australia.<\/p>\n

From noon on Wednesday (August 25) until noon on September 8, Queensland residents and new arrivals from NSW, Victoria and the ACT will need to reapply for a border pass.<\/p>\n

Anyone intending to move who has been in a hotspot in the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter Queensland without an exemption.<\/p>\n

Over the next fortnight, border passes will still be issued to those who are eligible, however applicants will be provided a time period for when they can arrive in Queensland.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The pause on arrivals for two weeks is aimed at easing hotel quarantine capacity while still ensuring people with exemptions (such as medical or compassionate grounds) are given priority.<\/p>\n

The pause does not apply to cohorts with existing arrangements such as travelling to Queensland for essential health care, court orders, child custody arrangements and specialist workers.<\/p>\n

The borders will remain open for all emergency situations.<\/p>\n
