A senior South Burnett Regional Council staff member has taken over project management of the $13.9 million Kingaroy Transformation Project.<\/p>\n

The news that management of the project had been taken back “in-house” by Infrastructure General Manager Aaron Meehan was announced at Council’s Infrastructure Standing Committee meeting on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The Standing Committee receives regular updates on KTP progress.<\/p>\n

The latest report stated the project was “currently tracking behind by approximately five weeks”.<\/p>\n

However, the construction program was “being revised for acceleration and additional contract resources are currently being engaged during August to assist in bringing delivery back to targets”.<\/p>\n

The report also emphasised the supply of materials continued to be a challenge, something being experienced by many industries due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n

No reason for the departure of the previous project manager – Allen Christensen, from Kingaroy-based ATC Engineers and Project Managers – was given during the committee meeting.<\/p>\n

Cr Kirstie Schumacher recommended that a letter be sent to ATC Engineers thanking them for their extensive efforts on the KTP project.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Mayor Brett Otto told southburnett.com.au<\/strong>\u00a0Mr Christensen had resigned due to the heavy workload in his business.<\/p>\n

Mr Christensen declined a request to comment.<\/p>\n
