Toowoomba Regional Council says it has completed more than 30 per cent of its 2021-22 flood recovery program repairs to the region\u2019s roads.<\/p>\n

The program – worth about $25 million – is being delivered through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), jointly funded by the Federal and State governments.<\/p>\n

The works will repair damage caused by the floods in the region in February last year.<\/p>\n

Cr Carol Taylor said Council had completed almost a third of the program to date, with remaining works to be completed by the end of 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is also a program of culvert replacement works which are expected to be completed in the first half of next year.<\/p>\n

Cr Taylor said DRFA programs usually take two years to deliver.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis allowed Council time to properly assess the damage that occurred, make submissions, co-ordinate and manage the restoration program and then finalise claims through the project acquittal process,” she said.<\/p>\n
