Does your business or sports club have an AED – an\u00a0automated external defibrillator – mounted somewhere on a wall?<\/p>\n

Good on you, you could save a life some day … but have you registered it?<\/p>\n

Kingaroy Rotary’s Ray Pitt – who has been co-ordinating the club’s rollout of the life-saving devices around the region – said Rotary members had been coming across AEDs installed in some locations which had surprised them.<\/p>\n

And checking later, they discovered the devices had not been registered with the Queensland Ambulance Service.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ray said registering an AED location with the QAS could be the difference between life and death in an emergency.<\/p>\n

He said a caller to Triple 0 could be directed to a nearby AED if it was registered.<\/p>\n

“We really need to get this information out there,” he said.<\/p>\n
