Brisbane’s Delta COVID-19 cluster has now reached 47 cases with the confirmation on Tuesday that another 16 people have tested positive.<\/p>\n

The majority of these new cases are students.<\/p>\n

Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said all the new cases were linked to the Indooroopilly cluster.<\/p>\n

“I am still concerned, though, that we don’t know how this outbreak has happened,” Dr Young told reporters.<\/p>\n

“We know the very first two cases arrived into Queensland on June 29, but I don’t know how it’s got from either of those two people to the first family in that Indooroopilly \/ Taringa area.<\/p>\n

“We do need to continue testing throughout all of those 11 LGAs (Local Government Areas) and throughout Queensland.<\/p>\n

“It’s really important so that we can just make sure that we don’t have any other transmission events, any outbreaks, happening.”<\/p>\n

School which have been named as potential close contact sites for the cluster include Indooroopilly\u00a0State High School; Brigidine College, Indooroopilly; Brisbane Grammar School, Brisbane Girls\u00a0Grammar School, Ironside State School,\u00a0St Peters Lutheran College and St Aidan\u2019 Anglican Girls School.<\/p>\n
