Taliqua Clancy and\u00a0Mariafe Artacho del Solar will play on in the Tokyo Olympic volleyball competition, despite their shock preliminary round loss to a Russian duo on Friday.<\/p>\n

The Aussies started slowly against Nadezda Makroguzova and Svetlana Kholomina, losing the first set 21-8.<\/p>\n

However, they rallied to take the second set comfortably, 21-15.<\/p>\n

This forced the match to a third set with the winner being the team to reach 15 points first.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the Russians made the target ahead of the Australian pair, finishing ahead 15-12.<\/p>\n

Clancy and\u00a0Artacho del Solar will go through to the next round of the competition, although the draw is yet to be decided.<\/p>\n

The Olympic beach volleyball is being played at Shiokaze Park, next to Tokyo Bay.<\/p>\n
