{"id":303193,"date":"2021-07-30T13:40:30","date_gmt":"2021-07-30T03:40:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=303193"},"modified":"2021-07-30T15:54:46","modified_gmt":"2021-07-30T05:54:46","slug":"80000-covid-tests-carried-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2021\/07\/30\/80000-covid-tests-carried-out\/","title":{"rendered":"80,000 COVID Tests Carried Out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>July 30, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Darling Downs Health has tested 80,125 people for the COVID-19 virus since the pandemic began in 2020, figures released by Queensland Health on Friday reveal.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 57 people have tested positive (28 female and 29 male) with 55 recovered.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, two people have died.<\/p>\n<p><strong>At at July 29:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Darling Downs Health had completed 117,844 tests on 80,125 people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A total of 3041 people in the health district have receive a quarantine notice, with nine notices still active.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Age breakdown of the 57 Darling Downs COVID-19 cases:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Age 0-9 &#8211; 1<\/li>\n<li>Age 10-19 &#8211; 3<\/li>\n<li>Age 20-29 &#8211; 15<\/li>\n<li>Age 30-39 &#8211; 7<\/li>\n<li>Age 40-49 &#8211; 1<\/li>\n<li>Age 50-59 &#8211; 10<\/li>\n<li>Age 60-69 &#8211; 8<\/li>\n<li>Age 70-79 &#8211; 10<\/li>\n<li>Age 80-89 &#8211; 2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Three positive cases people have been recorded against South Burnett Local Government Area: two acquired overseas, and one interstate. All have recovered.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are currently no positive cases with the Darling Downs Health health region.<\/p>\n<p>Queensland Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said that since Australia\u2019s first COVID-19 case was confirmed on January 25, 2020, Queensland has recorded 1793 cases.<\/p>\n<p>Seven people have died.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlmost 80 per cent our cases have been acquired overseas, with a large portion of those detected in quarantine,&#8221;\u00a0 Dr Young said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd a significant amount of our locally acquired cases were safely isolating while they were infectious, instead of risking the health of others in the community, which is a fantastic result,\u201d Dr Young said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Darling Downs Health COVID-19 Incident Response Commander Annette Scott said she was exceptionally proud of the Darling Downs Health community.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been good to see the people in our communities do the right thing,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom social distancing, getting tested, staying home when unwell, to lining up for the vaccine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery time we\u2019ve put out the call to help stop the spread, our communities have listened.
