{"id":302737,"date":"2021-07-21T10:58:49","date_gmt":"2021-07-21T00:58:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=302737"},"modified":"2021-07-21T14:28:51","modified_gmt":"2021-07-21T04:28:51","slug":"bushfire-grants-program-opens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2021\/07\/21\/bushfire-grants-program-opens\/","title":{"rendered":"Bushfire Grants Program Opens"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_198216\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-198216\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/llewobrien.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-198216\" src=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/llewobrien.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"341\" srcset=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/llewobrien.jpg 200w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/llewobrien-176x300.jpg 176w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-198216\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Member for Wide Bay Llew O&#8217;Brien<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>July 21, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Organisations in the South Burnett, North Burnett, Gympie and Toowoomba council areas have been invited to apply for a share of $280 million for projects to assist in bushfire recovery.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Government has released guidelines for the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery grants program which aims to provide funding directly to fire-affected communities to help in their ongoing recovery after the 2019-20 bushfires.<\/p>\n<p>Grants of between $20,000 and $10 million are available, covering up to 100 per cent of the cost of eligible projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis grants program is a great opportunity for bushfire-affected communities to invest in recovery and resilience, through projects that address the social and economic needs of their community,\u201d Member for Wide Bay Llew O\u2019Brien said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cSuitable initiatives can include projects to create or support local jobs; promote interstate or overseas trade such as rebuilding infrastructure to support commercial activities, or tourism-related activities; right through to projects that enhance the cultural life of the community; address health impacts of the fires; or benefit of Indigenous people or communities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI encourage local organisations to look at the guidelines, consider their community\u2019s needs and start planning projects \u2013 you know your local area best, so have a think about what a share of this funding could be used for that would really benefit your community and help with recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Applications open on Thursday (July 22) and close on September 2.<\/p>\n<p>Guidelines and the preview application form are available from the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/business.gov.au\/bsbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Business Grants Hub<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Related article: <A HREF=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2020\/01\/24\/dont-forget-about-somerset\/\">Don&#8217;t Forget About Somerset<\/A><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Organisations in the South Burnett, North Burnett, Gympie and Toowoomba council areas have been invited to apply for a share of $280 million for projects to assist in bushfire recovery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":267222,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
