The Nanango Theatre Company is preparing to launch its first production for 2013 on Friday, April 26, and it’s not intended for younger viewers.<\/p>\n

The new show, “Lesser Evils”, is a play about modern life written by South Burnett playwright Liz Schneidewin.<\/p>\n

It’s inspired by Terence Rattigan’s classic play “Deep Blue Sea” and is a story of friendship, love, hope and renewal, the mistakes we make and how we survive them.<\/p>\n

Kieran Abbott takes the lead role as Sandra, an artist who’s made mistakes.<\/p>\n

She’s joined by Tasha Freeman as her best friend and next-door neighbour Allie, a nail technician with a heart of gold who lives with her coming-of-age son Sean, portrayed by up-and-coming actor Brenton Cullen.<\/p>\n

Also living in the same building is Jones, a security guard with a hidden past played by Kendall Siddans.<\/p>\n

Brad Boynton is Sandra\u2019s boyfriend Tom, an ambitious documentary film maker who stands in the shadow of Richard, a high-powered public prosecutor.<\/p>\n

And they’re joined by Shane Seaton as Stan, a television producer who may hold the key to Tom\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

Lesser Evils is not intended for younger audiences and will debut at the Nanango Theatre Company’s Elk Street playhouse at 7:00pm on Friday, April 26, with a $25 per head wine and cheese night.<\/p>\n

Other performances (at $20 for adults and $15 for concessions) will be held at 7:00pm on Saturday, April 27; Friday and Saturday, May 3-4; and Friday, May 10, before the show concludes with a final $25 wine and cheese night on Saturday, May 11.<\/p>\n

There’ll also be a special 2:00pm matinee performance on Saturday, May 4.<\/p>\n

Tickets are available from the Nanango Visitor Information Centre in George Street or by phoning (07) 4171-0100.<\/p>\n

Unless sold out, tickets will also be available at the door 30 minutes before each performance begins.<\/p>\n
