They did it! The Kingaroy Kindergarten’s “Blitz Day” on Saturday has been hailed a great success by organisers with about 40 volunteers finishing off the all-important playground and garden areas.<\/p>\n

Some volunteers were up in the air, working on the roofs of the shade structures, while others were down on their hands and knees, planting flowers and shrubs.<\/p>\n

Others were mixing concrete or wielding power tools.<\/p>\n

But the effort has all been worthwhile. The finished area includes gardens, a sand pit, a mud pit (complete with its own water pump and mini watercourse), shade areas and a cubby house.<\/p>\n

A mini-stage has been erected in one corner and a bicycle path winds through the garden.<\/p>\n

Two established trees – golden ashes donated by the South Burnett Regional Council – also grace the new garden.<\/p>\n

As the the day progressed, turf was laid and watered in.<\/p>\n

The kindergarten kids are now closer than ever to moving into the new building.<\/p>\n

Pavers are still to be laid at the front of the building to thank the companies and individuals who have supported the project.<\/p>\n

And the carpark area is taking shape. The formwork was put in place on Monday ready for the concrete pour.<\/p>\n
