A young boy has been flown to hospital with critical burns after an incident on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

The RACQ LifeFlight helicopter was called to the South Burnett just after 7:00pm.<\/p>\n

A LifeFlight spokesperson said it was believed the child had been attempting to light a fire, using petrol, when flames erupted, burning him from the waist up.<\/p>\n

He reportedly suffered critical burns to about 60 per cent of his body.<\/p>\n

Ambulance paramedics initially treated the boy at the scene before taking him to Goomeri Showgrounds to rendezvous with the LifeFlight helicopter.<\/p>\n

He was then flown to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a critical but stable condition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
