Toowoomba Regional Council has received a $2 million State Government grant to put towards the upgrade of the Yarraman Waste Management Facility.<\/p>\n

The grant is part of $9.11 million received by the TRC under the\u00a02021-24 South East Queensland Community Stimulus Program.<\/p>\n

Council is currently preparing documents to put the Yarraman project out to tender.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe current Yarraman Landfill is outdated and needs to be replaced with a modern waste management facility that complies with the strategic priorities of Council\u2019s Waste Management Strategy and the State Waste Reduction and Recycling Plan,” Mayor Paul Antonio said.<\/p>\n

The new facility will be built on the site of the existing landfill.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWaste will be stored on a hardstand pavement, and transported to landfill locations offsite.<\/p>\n
