New signs will be erected at the Yallakool and Lake Boondooma Tourist Parks over the next few months to give both holiday spots a more modern, contemporary feel (Illustration: SBRC)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Visitors to Yallakool or Lake Boondooma will soon be greeted by new, more modern signs as they enter either tourist park.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Regional Council will be installing the new signs to enhance marketing for the popular dam holiday spots, which have both experienced a significant lift in visitor numbers over the past year.<\/p>\n

Prior to the pandemic, the dams had experienced a steady, long-term decline in visitation.<\/p>\n

This led the Council to upgrade facilities and re-examine the way they were promoted.<\/p>\n

The new designs have been produced to enhance the appeal of the parks to urban audiences and reinforce a more modern, contemporary look.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After some discussion, Councillors altered a first draft of the signs from ‘Lake Boondooma’ to ‘Boondooma Dam’ to match the naming of ‘Bjelke-Petersen Dam’, but otherwise left the suggested designs (pictured above) unchanged.<\/p>\n

Both dams contribute income to the Council when the tourist parks are running at high capacity.<\/p>\n
