Health Issues Alert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>June 27, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Queensland Health issued a public health alert on Sunday afternoon for parts of the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane after three more people tested positive to COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Contact tracing and testing is now under way.<\/p>\n<p>Two of the new cases are linked to the June 20 case of an airline worker who tested positive to the Alpha variant after spending 14 days in quarantine.<\/p>\n<p>They are a woman who works as a cleaner at the DFO shopping centre near Brisbane Airport and at the Brisbane City Watchhouse, and her partner who works on the Sunshine Coast.<\/p>\n<p>The couple visited multiple locations before testing positive for COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Queensland Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said it is believed they have been infectious in the community since June 20.<\/p>\n<div class=\"description g_font-body-m\">\n<p>The Alpha variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus was formerly known as the UK or Kent variant.\u00a0It is not considered as contagious as the Delta variant currently the focus of contact tracing efforts in Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>The third case is a woman who has tested positive on the Sunshine Coast.<\/p>\n<p>This case is believed to be linked to a Northern Territory mine worker who is believed to have caught the virus &#8211; possibly the Delta variant &#8211; while staying briefly in hotel quarantine in Brisbane before heading to the NT.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>The more than 30 sites listed by Queensland Health on Sunday are located at:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Brisbane Airport<\/li>\n<li>Brisbane City<\/li>\n<li>Chapel Hill<\/li>\n<li>Clayfield<\/li>\n<li>Coochin Creek<\/li>\n<li>Fortitude Valley<\/li>\n<li>Hamilton<\/li>\n<li>Hendra<\/li>\n<li>Herston<\/li>\n<li>Indooroopilly<\/li>\n<li>Newstead<\/li>\n<li>Teneriffe<\/li>\n<li>West End<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They include restaurants, gyms, supermarkets, the Hendra Post Office and the McDonalds at Glasshouse Mountains.<\/p>\n<p>Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said it was &#8220;critical&#8221; that anyone with symptoms get tested, particularly if they have been to any of the potential exposure sites.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A full list of close, casual and low-risk exposure sites is included on the Queensland Health <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qld.gov.au\/health\/conditions\/health-alerts\/coronavirus-covid-19\/current-status\/contact-tracing#QLD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Queensland Health said anyone who has been to a Close Contact or a Casual Contact location should immediately quarantine, complete the online contact tracing form (linked to the location information on the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.qld.gov.au\/health\/conditions\/health-alerts\/coronavirus-covid-19\/current-status\/contact-tracing#QLD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Contact Tracing web page<\/a>)<\/strong>, get tested and wait until further advice from Queensland Health.<\/p>\n<p>Queensland Health is urging residents to continually monitor the Contact Tracing web page for updates to the list of sites.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Related article: <a *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>NSW Health authorities announced 30 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday &#8211; all linked to the Bondi cluster.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This brings the total number of cases in the present\u00a0outbreak in NSW, which began on June 16, to 112.<\/p>\n<p>Cases linked to this cluster have also been recorded in Victoria and Western Australia.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align:
