Senior Constable Rob Grogan will be mentoring First Year Constable Danii Scheu for the next four weeks<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Kingaroy’s latest police officer hit the streets for the first time on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

First Year Constable Danii Scheu only graduated from Oxley Police Academy last Friday.<\/p>\n

Constable Scheu grew up in Kilcoy but requested a placement at Kingaroy Police Station because it was bigger than her home town and would offer more varieties of experience.<\/p>\n

She admitted she hadn’t always wanted to be a cop, mainly because all the officers she had known as a young person were male and she hadn’t seen any female officers.<\/p>\n

So when she left school, she studied teaching at the University of the Sunshine Coast. But after a short while, she realised she wanted to do something more “hands-on” so transferred to a Bachelor of Justice and Criminology.<\/p>\n

Constable Scheu will be stationed at Kingaroy for 12 months.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For her first eight weeks she will be mentored by a senior officer, and will accompany him on all jobs.<\/p>\n

She told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> she was excited about starting her new career, and seeing where it would lead.<\/p>\n

During her stay she will do rotations with the CIB, Traffic Branch and Prosecutions to experience more sides of police work.<\/p>\n

At the moment, there are two First Year Constables stationed at Kingaroy, and five throughout the whole South Burnett.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
