Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced a further easing of COVID-19 restrictions in Queensland.<\/p>\n

From 1:00am on Friday:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Indoor venues can go from one person per two square metres to three people per four square metres, including hostels and B&Bs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • No limit on gatherings in homes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • No limit on outdoor places<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • No restrictions on aged care, disability services and hospitals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            \n
          • Self-service food is back<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            \u201cThe decision allowing the return of buffets and smorgasbords will free up staff allowing hotels to open more rooms in time for the school holidays,\u201d the Premier said.<\/p>\n

            Health Minister Yvette D\u2019Ath said the changes were largely made possible by the success of the Check-in Queensland App which has sped up contact tracing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

            The Minister said more venues would be required to use the app.<\/p>\n

            \u201cPlaces like food courts, open houses, hairdressers, casinos, theme parks and caravan parks will be required to use the app,\u201d Minister D\u2019Ath said.<\/p>\n

            \u201cMany have already recognised how easy and simple the app is.<\/p>\n

            \u201cWe will now require them to use it.<\/p>\n

            \u201cIt\u2019s free, it\u2019s easy and it helps us keep Queensland safe.\u201d<\/p>\n

            Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said eased restrictions will also assist the music industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \u201cThey can have more people under the three per four square metre rule and dancing is perfectly okay,\u201d Dr Young said.<\/p>\n
