Transport Minister Mark Bailey<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Memerambi-Gordonbrook Road was inspected after an ambulance slid off an unsealed section, Transport Minister Mark Bailey confirmed on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

However, the Minister did not indicate when the gravel section would be sealed.<\/p>\n

The ambulance crash occurred about 2:40pm on March 18 this year.<\/p>\n

Police were called to the incident after the QAS vehicle slid off the gravel road into a dirt drain running alongside it.<\/p>\n

No one was injured in the incident and the ambulance was not damaged.<\/p>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington quizzed Minister Bailey in a Question On Notice about the incident, saying there were ongoing concerns about the deteriorating condition of Memerambi-Gordonbrook Road:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Will the Minister advise<\/em><\/p>\n

(a) When funding will be provided to upgrade and seal the 7km unsealed section between Hirst Creek and the Chinchilla-Wondai Road, and
\n<\/em>
\n(b) When funding will be provided to upgrade the sealed section to improve the road shoulders and potholes?<\/em><\/p>\n

Mr Bailey said the Department of Transport and Main Roads had inspected the gravel section of\u00a0Memerambi-Gordonbrook Road after the crash.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“In addition, Memerambi-Gordonbrook Road is inspected once a month and routine maintenance\u00a0grading and repairs are scheduled as required,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Prior to the crash, the road was inspected on\u00a0March 1, 2021, at which time Memerambi-Gordonbrook Road was considered to be in a good\u00a0condition.<\/p>\n

“The road was inspected again on May 24, 2021, following the crash and subsequent wet weather.<\/p>\n

“The unsealed sections were last graded in January 2021 and, based on the road\u00a0condition at this time, the next grade is scheduled for July 2021.”<\/p>\n
