Queensland Health issued a COVID-19 alert on Wednesday afternoon for several locations – including one in Toowoomba – after a 44-year-old woman tested positive for COVID-19 on the Sunshine Coast.<\/p>\n

The woman and her partner recently travelled to Queensland from Greater Melbourne via NSW.<\/p>\n

The couple left Melbourne on June 1 and entered\u00a0Queensland at Goondiwindi on June 5.<\/p>\n

The woman was staying with relatives at Caloundra when she was tested on Tuesday morning; a positive result was confirmed on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

She is now being treated at the\u00a0Sunshine Coast University Hospital.<\/p>\n

Her partner has so far tested negative, but has been admitted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital as a precaution.<\/p>\n

It is believed the woman became infectious about June 1, and first demonstrated symptoms on June 3.<\/p>\n

So far six of her close contacts have been tested, but results are not yet available.<\/p>\n

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the couple entering Queensland.<\/p>\n

Queensland Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young released a preliminary list of exposure sites:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • June 5 – Caltex Super Petrol Station, Toowoomba – 10:45am-11:15am<\/li>\n
  • June 6 –\u00a0Sunny’s @ Moffat, Moffat Beach – 2:30pm-3:00pm<\/li>\n
  • June 6 – Coffee Cat, Kings Beach – 3:20pm-4:40pm<\/li>\n
  • June 7 – Stocklands Shopping Centre, Caloundra – 10:30am-11:45am (in particular, Coffee Club and Kmart – women’s section)<\/li>\n
  • June 7 – Bunnings Caloundra – 12:00pm-12:40pm<\/li>\n
  • June 7 –\u00a0Kawana Shoppingworld (in particular, JB Hi-Fi and Food Court) – 1:10pm-2:15pm<\/li>\n
  • June 8 –\u00a0Baringa SupaIGA, West Caloundra – 3:45pm-4:15pm<\/li>\n
  • June 8 – Female toilets near SupaIGA – 4:00pm-4:15pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Dr Young emphasised the woman was still being interviewed by contact tracers and more sites would likely be added to this list.<\/p>\n
