South Burnett residents will have the opportunity to meet the new midwives of the South Burnett Midwifery Group Practice this month.<\/p>\n

Darling Downs Health will be hosting a community event in Memorial Park, Kingaroy, from 9:30am to 11:30am on Thursday (June 10).<\/p>\n

Assistant director of nursing and midwifery Jennifer Goodwin encouraged all families to come along to the community event to learn more about their local Midwifery Group Practice (MGP).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to be able to offer this model of care to expectant mums and their families in the South Burnett,\u201d Ms Goodwin said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn MGP means that pregnant women see a known midwife for their pregnancy, labour, birth and follow-up care.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThis includes providing care, consultations and support in a women\u2019s home or local hospital or health service, where possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis approach to maternity service is seen as the \u2018gold standard\u2019 and we look forward to supporting women and their families across the South Burnett.\u201d<\/p>\n
